Blackmagic Design Unveils URSA Cine 12K LF 100G for High-Spe

Blackmagic Design has introduced the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF 100G, a new digital film camera designed specifically for high-end live production and cinematic broadcasting. Announced earlier this month at NAB 2026, the camera integrates a 100G Ethernet port to support SMPTE-2110 IP video workflows. This hardware addition allows for the transmission of massive data volumes, including high-frame-rate video, directly from the camera without the need for external capture cards.

The device features a large-format RGBW 36x24mm sensor capable of delivering 16 stops of dynamic range. According to Blackmagic Design, the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF 100G supports frame rates up to 440 fps in specific live production modes, utilizing the company's Gen 6 Color Science for high-fidelity imaging. This makes it a powerful option for sports and live events where slow-motion and high resolution are critical.

Beyond its networking capabilities, the Blackmagic URSA Cine 12K LF 100G includes interchangeable lens mounts for PL, L-mount, and EF glass. It records high-quality Blackmagic RAW files to internal high-speed NVMe storage, ensuring that the high data rates of 12K resolution are handled efficiently. The built-in 100G Ethernet also facilitates rapid file transfers and direct live streaming of large data sets.
