**Google** released a new feature called **Skills in Chrome** on April 14, 2026, which enables users to convert their Gemini AI prompts into one-click automated workflows. This update allows desktop users to save specific AI interactions as reusable **Chrome AI Skills** that can be triggered via a simple command across one or multiple browser tabs.

The functionality is housed within the **Gemini** side panel of the browser. Users can browse their chat history, select a successful prompt, and store it in a dedicated library for future use. These saved tools are accessed by typing a forward slash (/) in the interface, allowing for rapid deployment of complex AI tasks without re-typing instructions.

## Streamlining Research with Chrome AI Skills

One of the primary advantages of this system is its ability to operate across multiple tabs simultaneously. **Google** demonstrated that a single **Chrome AI Skills** workflow, such as a "Compare Specs" tool, can pull data from three different product pages at once to create a comparison table. This multi-tab execution is designed to reduce the manual effort required for deep research and data extraction.

The launch includes more than 50 pre-configured templates for various consumer tasks, including nutrition calculations and academic research. Because these **Chrome AI Skills** are linked to a user's signed-in profile, they automatically sync across all desktop installations of the browser. As of April 15, 2026, the feature is rolling out to English-speaking users in the United States.
