Hugging Face Introduces Open-Source Humanoid Robots HopeJR and Reachy Mini
Hugging Face is expanding into robotics with the introduction of two open-source humanoid robots, HopeJR and Reachy Mini. The full-sized HopeJR, designed in collaboration with The Robot Studio, features 66 actuated degrees of freedom, enabling walking and object manipulation. Priced at $3,000, it offers an affordable alternative to existing humanoid research platforms.
The Reachy Mini, a compact desktop unit, is priced between $250 and $300 and supports human-computer interactions. Powered by Hugging Face’s AI models and community resources, it provides an accessible platform for AI experimentation.
Both robots are expected to begin shipping by the end of 2025, with Hugging Face emphasizing open-source accessibility to encourage collaboration in robotics development.
