Samsung at Gamescom 2026 will put hands-on demos ahead of new-product announcements, with the company's full-stack gaming lineup spanning PC, console and mobile under the #PlaySamsung banner. Samsung confirmed the plans on August 11 for the Cologne trade fair, which runs August 26-30 at Koelnmesse and brings together roughly 1,500 exhibitors.

Headlining the floor is the **Odyssey G8**, which Samsung bills as the world's first 6K gaming monitor. Launched in May 2026, it runs a dual-mode panel at 6K and 165Hz, or drops to 3K at 330Hz, with Nvidia G-SYNC compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium support.

The rest of the booth draws on hardware already on shelves: the **9100 PRO SSD** for next-generation game loads and the **Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra** for mobile play. Because none of these products are new, the event functions as an experience floor where attendees test gear they can already buy.

Esports anchors the schedule. The #PlayGalaxy Cup World Finals run August 27-28 in PUBG Mobile, with 10 teams qualified through regional tournaments, joined by influencer matches, a Crimson Desert HDR10+ GAMING demo zone from Pearl Abyss and a cosplay runway.

## Why Samsung at Gamescom 2026 matters

For Samsung, the Cologne event is a chance to sell the entire hardware stack at once, using the Odyssey G8's 6K spec as the draw that pulls traffic across its PC, console and mobile displays. With the monitor, SSD and foldable already shipping, Samsung at Gamescom 2026 is a bet that hands-on time converts better than a launch keynote.
