Tesla Debuts Powerwall 3P with Native Three-Phase Inverter for European Homes
Tesla has introduced the Tesla Powerwall 3P, a specialized home energy storage system featuring an integrated three-phase hybrid inverter. This new model, announced on April 24, 2026, is specifically tailored for the electrical grid standards common in Europe and Australia.
The "P" designation stands for "Three-Phase," highlighting the unit's ability to natively support three-phase power without requiring the external inverters or additional hardware often needed for standard battery setups. This integration streamlines the installation process for homeowners and installers alike by consolidating the necessary components into a single chassis.
Capabilities of the Tesla Powerwall 3P
The Tesla Powerwall 3P offers a storage capacity of 13.4 kWh and can provide up to 15.4 kW of continuous AC power. This high output capacity is designed to support energy-intensive appliances such as heat pumps, electric vehicle chargers, and electric saunas, which are increasingly common in modern sustainable homes.
To maximize solar energy harvesting, the system includes four integrated Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) trackers. These allow the unit to optimize energy production from solar arrays, even when panels are installed on complex roof structures with multiple angles or shading issues.
According to Tesla, shipping for the Tesla Powerwall 3P begins immediately in Germany. The company plans to roll out the product to additional European markets in the coming months as it expands its residential energy portfolio.
