AMD Unveils Ryzen 7 7700X3D and Anniversary 5800X3D for Gamers

Ryzen 7 7700X3D

AMD has expanded its 3D V-Cache processor family with the introduction of the Ryzen 7 7700X3D and a special 10th-anniversary edition of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Announced during Computex 2026, these new chips aim to provide high-performance gaming options for both the current AM5 platform and the long-standing AM4 socket. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is scheduled for release on July 16, while the anniversary edition AM4 chip will arrive on June 25.

The Ryzen 7 7700X3D brings the benefits of stacked L3 cache to a more accessible price point on the AM5 platform. This processor features eight Zen 4 cores and 16 threads, with boost clock speeds reaching 4.5GHz. It is equipped with a massive 104MB total cache and operates within a 120W thermal design power (TDP) envelope. Priced at $329, it is a mid-range alternative for gamers who want 3D V-Cache technology without moving to the higher-tier Ryzen 9 models.

For users still utilizing the older AM4 platform, AMD is celebrating a decade of the socket with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition. This version of the Zen 3 processor includes 100MB of cache and introduces Carbice Ice Pad thermal material to improve heat management. AMD stated that this updated chip can outperform competitive high-end hardware like the i9-14900K in specific gaming scenarios. The anniversary edition will retail for $349.

Beyond the new processors, AMD confirmed that it will continue to support the AM5 socket through at least 2029, ensuring a long upgrade path for current motherboard owners. The company also announced that the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card, which features 12GB of VRAM and targets QHD gaming performance, will see a global release at a price of $549.
